Georgia-based center Arrinten Page was Indiana’s last main target on the board in the class of 2023.
On Monday evening Page announced he is headed to the University of Southern California.
“It was a combination of their play style, coaching staff and what they have done with their big men in the past,” Page told ESPN’s Paul Biancardi of his decision.
Indiana offered Page in April, he took an official visit in July, and the staff pursued him aggressively into September until it became apparent he was headed elsewhere. Now the Hoosiers could end up facing USC and Page when the Trojans join the Big Ten.
IU has two commits in the 2023 class — guards Jakai Newton and Gabe Cupps.
Currently IU projects to have Jordan Geronimo, Logan Duncomb, Malik Reneau and Kaleb Banks in the frontcourt in 2023-24. The Hoosiers will almost certainly look to the transfer portal for frontcourt additions following the 2022-23 season.
