2024 Indiana Miss Basketball Chloe Spreen is transferring to IU, she announced on Wednesday.
Spreen spent her freshman season at Alabama, where she appeared in 19 games, averaging 6.7 minutes per game. The combo guard scored 23 points for the season in a limited role.
Spreen will arrive at IU with three years of eligibility remaining.
As a senior at Bedford North Lawrence Stars in 2023-24, Spreen helped lead the squad to a 20-5 record and its 13th-consecutive IHSAA Class 4A sectional title.
Spreen averaged 20.9 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game during her senior year, and posted 1,869 career points, which ranks second highest on the school’s all-time scoring list. For her career she shot 46 percent from the field overall, including 28 percent from three. She shot a career-best 38 percent from three as a junior in route to leading BNL to a state title.
The 5-foot-10 Spreen was a ProspectsNation.com 4-star and 46th-ranked overall prospect. She was an ESPNW 4-star recruit.
Spreen is Indiana’s first portal addition of this cycle. Teri Moren’s Hoosiers have lost six players including starter Yarden Garzon to the portal.
