Class of 2024 5-star center Flory Bidunga is a priority target for Indiana.
And with Kel’el Ware a good candidate to only spend one year in Bloomington, there is a strong opportunity for IU to present to Bidunga a good case for both a pipeline to the NBA, and immediate playing time.
Bidunga caught up with multiple national reporters (Joe Tipton, On3, Travis Branham, 247) over the weekend at the Adidas 3SSB event in Texas. Here is a synopsis of what he said:
- Bidunga is planning to visit Kentucky in June. An official visit to Michigan at the end of May also appears to be in the works. No other visits are planned right now.
- A decision on a college is likely before his senior year begins.
Distilling the comments this weekend and based on our own conversations, Indiana, Kentucky, Auburn, Michigan, Cincinnati, Michigan State and Florida appear to be the main group of contenders at this time, in no particular order. It doesn’t appear that Bidunga has really started to narrow things down.
Bidunga also said again he is not planning to reclassify, something that should help IU since Ware is on board for the 2023-24 campaign.
According to the On3 industry average, Bidunga is the No. 3 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 1 center. He led Kokomo H.S. to the Indiana Class 4A State Finals and was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
We caught up with Bidunga a couple weeks ago in Noblesville, Ind. and were able to talk to him, his teammates and coaches more specifically about Indiana, along with his development over the last year. You can check that out here:
