A former IU 2024 target has come off the board and entered the in-state rivalry.
Raleigh Burgess, a four-star power forward, has committed to Purdue.
The 6-foot-11, 235-pound junior out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Sycamore chose the Boilermakers on Monday, citing the fit with the staff and proximity to home. Burgess missed a significant portion of the 2022-23 season with a leg injury. He has not returned to AAU action.
Burgess ranks No. 109 overall according to the On3 industry average. He’s the No. 19 power forward in the class. Cincinnati, Ohio State, Xavier and Virginia were some of the other main schools involved.
Burgess is the third player to commit in Purdue’s class of 2024, joining in-state wing Kanon Catchings and shooting guard Jack Benter.
Indiana does not have a 2024 commit at this time. Their main 2024 big men targets at the four and five spots are 5-stars Flory Bidunga, Asa Newell and Derik Queen.
