Indiana men’s basketball has confirmed at least two players are participating in senior day ceremonies on Sunday.
But the Hoosiers may have only one of those players available for the actual game against Michigan State.
Forward Anthony Walker suffered a right knee injury during the second half of IU’s win at Minnesota on Wednesday, and did not return for the rest of the night. He was back on the bench by the end of the game.
IU head coach Mike Woodson didn’t have any update on his status after the game on Wednesday. On a media availability over Zoom on Friday, Woodson remained unsure of his availability for Sunday.
“Well, his MRI checked out pretty well. I don’t know the status of him being able to practice today,” Woodson said. “Yesterday he was pretty sore coming out of the MRI, so I’ll know more today when I get down on the practice floor to see where he is in terms of being able to play.”
Walker turned in 14 solid minutes for the Hoosiers in Minneapolis before his injury. When Malik Reneau and Kel’el Ware both got in first-half foul trouble, Woodson had to pivot to smaller lineups, and Walker was a key to making those looks work. The fifth-year scored six points on 2-of-5 shooting, and a 2-for-2 mark at the foul line, and he added with a rebound and an assist.
The Baltimore native is averaging 5.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game on the season, with a 48.6 field goal percentage.
