Indiana sophomore guard Armaan Franklin is in uniform and warming up for Indiana’s first round Big Ten Tournament game against Rutgers.
Franklin hasn’t played since the first half of Indiana’s game on Feb. 24 at Rutgers. He is Indiana’s second leading scorer and top 3-point shooter. He suffered a lower right leg injury during that Rutgers contest in New Jersey. Earlier in the season Franklin suffered a sprained left ankle. Over 20 games, Franklin is averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 30.1 minutes per contest. He is shooting 45 percent from 3-point range.
Redshirt junior forward Race Thompson is also in uniform and warming up at Lucas Oil Stadium for the Hoosiers. He suffered a sprained ankle in Indiana’s last game against Purdue and also is dealing with a broken nose. Indiana and Rutgers tip at 6:30 p.m. ET in downtown Indianapolis.
UPDATE: Indiana coach Archie Miller confirmed on his pre-game radio interview that Thompson will play on Thursday night. Franklin will attempt to play, but if he does his role is likely to be limited.
