Two former IU football players will be representing the program at the 2025 NFL Draft Combine. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke and interior defensive lineman C.J. West both received invitations according to the official announcement from the league on Thursday. Rourke was one of just 15 quarterbacks invited to the annual event. On his way to leading IU to an 11-2 season, Rourke set the Indiana single-season record for passing touchdowns (29) and produced just the fifth 3,000-yard passing season in program history with 3,042 yards. He finished among the top-10 in single-season total offense (3,007) and is just the seventh IU…

A second high major nonconference game has emerged for IU basketball’s 2025-26 nonconference slate. Who coaches that game for Indiana, however, remains to be seen. The Hoosiers are finalizing a deal to play Marquette at the United Center in Chicago according to Jon Rothstein. “Indiana and Marquette are finalizing an agreement to meet next season in a neutral site game at the United Center in Chicago, according to multiple sources,” Rothstein wrote on X for College Hoops Today. Rothstein said the date for the game is still to be determined. A game against Marquette would be the second known nonconference…
Indiana might have played more zone defense on Tuesday evening in East Lansing than Bob Knight coached teams utilized in all games combined throughout his entire career. And ironically, it was that IU zone that kept Michigan State’s Tom Izzo from passing the legendary former Hoosiers head coach as the all-time leader in Big Ten wins. Indiana struggled out of the gate against the Spartans, falling behind 20-8. But a switch midway through the first half to a 2-3 zone with some extended pressure at times stymied the 11-point home favorite. IU coach Mike Woodson, who played for Knight, says…
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Indiana defeated Michigan State at the Breslin Center by a final score of 71-67 Tuesday evening. Indiana led at halftime 32-29. The Hoosiers were led in the game by Malik Reneau with 19 points. The three keys to the game, highlights and finals stats are below. For Mike Woodson and Malik Reneau postgame, GO HERE. Indiana (15-10, 6-8) will host UCLA on Friday evening. THREE KEYS TO THE GAME 1. They closed. Indiana has given up multiple late game leads this season, and it looked like they might give one away again. The Hoosiers led by nine…
Save for a few blips on the radar, Indiana basketball hasn’t been a consistent power on the court in college basketball in decades. You, the tired, weary fans of IU basketball, yearning for success, don’t need to be reminded of that. But what IU basketball is as a program, and who they are on the court can be — and are — two very different realities. Saying Indiana has only made one Elite Eight in more than 30 years stings, and just two NCAA Tournament appearances in what will probably be nine years here in a month is a soul-crushing…
This is looking more and more like only an assessment of Indiana’s chance to make the Big Ten Tournament as the weeks pass. But the Hoosiers do still have a rapidly dwindling chance to make the NCAA Tournament. So for now we’ll continue to look at both paths. The Big Ten regular season ends on March 9, and NCAA Tournament Selection Sunday is on March 16. With losses in seven of their last eight games, IU basketball’s chances of playing any postseason basketball are on the decline. Let’s start with the Big Ten Tournament first this week. That field will…
Michigan head coach Dusty May is widely seen as one of the top candidates to replace Mike Woodson as the next leader of IU basketball following the 2024-25 season. And it now seems clear Michigan sees the threat, and wants to try to make a move to ward off Indiana and others. The On3 Michigan site is reporting via multiple sources the Wolverines are ‘working on’ keeping May happy in Ann Arbor. May’s current deal is 5-years and runs through April 2029. According to multiple reports, his average base salary over the life of the deal is $3.75 million. May…
Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo’s next win in the Big Ten will make him the all-time leader in league victories. Perhaps it’s appropriate he has a chance to break the record on Tuesday evening against Indiana. The current leader is none other than legendary IU coach Bob Knight. He ended his career with 353 Big Ten wins, to go with three NCAA titles from 1971 to 2000. Knight and Izzo developed a bond as the latter stepped in at Michigan State in 1995 to replace Jud Heathcote. Izzo was deferential to Knight when asked about tying him in connection…
We started our coverage of Indiana’s coaching search with a wide-angle look at the entire spectrum of potential candidates we suspect AD Scott Dolson might have on his radar, from longshots to primary targets. Now let’s distill the list into four categories: Tier 1, Tier 2, other names to know, and the candidates that seem unlikely at this point. Coaching records through Feb. 8. Tier 1 These are the candidates where we believe Indiana will have the heaviest level of interest, and there will be enough reciprocal interest to merit a serious pursuit. Dusty May Current job: Michigan head coach…
It wasn’t clear whether outgoing IU basketball coach Mike Woodson would meet with the media following his team’s 70-67 home loss to Michigan, and just a day after the school officially announced his “retirement” coming at the end of the season. To his credit, Woodson showed up. But it came with a caveat: An IU spokesperson said up front Woodson wouldn’t be taking any questions about his upcoming departure. The problem with those ground rules was Indiana’s loss to the Wolverines on Saturday afternoon looked a lot like many of Woodson’s 49 other losses during his time as head coach. …
