The marquee matchup involving Indiana and Nebraska will kick at Noon ET on Oct. 19 and air nationally on FOX. Although no formal announcement has been made, there appears to be a good chance FOX will bring its Big Noon Kickoff show to Bloomington for the second time in three years. Indiana fans won’t have to wait much longer to learn Braylon Mullins’ college destination. The in-state class of 2025 top-25 shooting guard will announce his commitment in just over two weeks — on October 23. The 6-foot-5 Mullins will pick either IU, Connecticut or Nort Carolina. According to the On3 Average, Mullins is a 4-star, the No. 22 overall player in the 2025 class, and the No. 6 shooting guard. Indiana’s offense continued it’s dominant start to the 2024 season with another 40-point, 500-yard performance. Several Hoosiers had standout games on the offensive side of the football during their 41-24 win in Evanston.  Below we took a look at PFF grades, notes and snap counts from the contest. Through six games, Indiana’s overall PFF grade is No. 3 in the nation, behind only Ohio State and Miami (Fla.). Their overall offense is second, and their overall defense is 14th. Just six games into his Indiana tenure, Curt Cignetti has already matched or exceeded the best full season win totals of 23 of the 29 Indiana head coaches who preceded him. In November, Cignetti signed a six-year deal worth an initial average of $4.5 million per year, and win number six triggered an extension and significant bonuses in his contract. Indiana is now bowl eligible, and that brings Cignetti a one-year extension, a $250,000 pay increase, and a $500,000 increase to the budget for football staff personnel — meaning for assistants and support staff, to be distributed at Cignetti’s discretion.…

Indiana’s ascent in the national polls continued on Sunday following their perfect first half of the 2024 season. In the new coaches poll released on Sunday afternoon, the Hoosiers (6-0) moved up four spots to No. 20. The Hoosiers are joined from the Big Ten by fellow undefeated squads Ohio State (2), Oregon (3) and Penn State (5).  Indiana moved one spot ahead of Michigan (21). Going back to last winter, talk of Indiana guard Jakai Newton’s athleticism began to emerge. While he wasn’t playing full contact five-on-five, Newton was working out and participating in some team activities behind the scenes.  And his speed and athleticism was catching the attention of the staff.
