For a while, an Indiana vs. Northwestern Big Ten Championship game appeared to be a strong possibility. Northwestern quarterback Peyton Ramsey has nothing but good feeling towards his former teammates and coaches at IU, but he was in no mood to become a distraction from the Wildcats’ special 2020 season. As that 2020 season progressed, Ramsey was aware of the increasing chance of playing against a program where he spent four seasons — and facing a litany of questions about his time in Bloomington and decision to transfer. While he found no joy in the Big Ten decision to place…
Indiana safety Jamar Johnson has been invited to the 2021 NFL Scouting Combine. The Sarasota, Fla. based Johnson was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in 2020, the first IU safety to earn that honor since Eric Allen in 1996. He had four interceptions and 43 tackles, including 3.5 for loss in 2020. Johnson was named the Big Ten co-Defensive Player of the Week after a week one win against Penn State. Johnson started his sophomore season at the husky position and ended that 2019 season with a pick-six at the Gator Bowl. He moved to safety in 2020 and played…
Former IU star D.J. White joined A.J. Guyton on the House of Hoosier Podcast this week. Tuscaloosa, Alabama native White started in all 29 games he played in during his freshman season, averaging 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game during the 2004-05 season. His productivity earned him Big Ten freshman of the year honors. After an injury plagued sophomore season there was concern that White would transfer. Mike Davis resigned in 2006 and White indicated that he was likely to look elsewhere. Fortunately for Indiana, White decided to stay and play for new head coach Kelvin Sampson. …

Connelly’s returning production formula looks at…
If Indiana is still in the NCAA Tournament hunt at the end of the month, it could face an unusually daunting and unexpected gauntlet before it can look forward to any postseason action. As it stands right now, Indiana has a lone game scheduled in its final week of Big Ten regular season play. That game, a road trip to Purdue, will be challenging enough given IU’s long losing streak to its rival. But the week could get far more difficult. Indiana’s current schedule includes a home game against Michigan on Saturday, Feb. 27, followed by that road trip to…
Indiana has struggled as a program to build on big wins and establish momentum under head coach Archie Miller. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers managed to play a game that perfectly illustrated their overarching shortcomings as a team under their fourth-year leader. IU played an excellent first half, and had the look of a team well on its way to a second major statement win in three games. Instead, the wheels came off in the second half against Illinois. Now losers of three straight on its home court, IU once again has the look of a team that just might…
Indiana redshirt sophomore Jerome Hunter was with the team on the bench on Tuesday night against Illinois but not uniform. Prior to the game IU released a statement indicating that Hunter was not playing due to a “coach’s decision.” Head coach Archie Miller expanded on the situation after the Hoosiers’ 75-71 overtime loss to the Illini. “There is nothing to really talk about with Jerome. Jerome was a coach’s decision and it’ll continue to be a coach’s decision as we continue to go through the next 33 days that we have left in the regular season,” Miller said. “He has…
