Bennett made the announcement on his Twitter page. “To be continued,” Bennett wrote in his post and included the following graphic: According to the 247Sports Composite, Bennett is a higher-end 3-star recruit, the No. 431 overall player in the 2021 class, and the No. 68 receiver. Along with Jaquez Smith (No. 263 / 41 / 4-star) and Jordyn…

To a certain extent, Indiana has had to earn its respect on the recruiting trail with results on the field. And now after a 2020 season that saw IU ranked in the top-10 and competing for a spot in the New Year’s Six bowl games, there are some early signs that the Hoosiers are gaining the attention of a different caliber of recruit. How high is this coaching staff going to aim in an attempt to capitalize on that recent success and further advance the program? New defensive coordinator Charlton Warren recently summarized his approach. “We are not going to…
Call it the Gus Johnson curse. “My intuition’s telling me, there’s gonna be better days for IU!” Johnson exuberantly proclaimed as Indiana completed a stunning come-from-behind win at the Crossroads Classic against Notre Dame in 2017. After an erratic 5-5 start to the Archie Miller era, Johnson felt he saw something special brewing as the Hoosiers overcame a 13-point second half deficit to beat the No. 18 Fighting Irish. Johnson’s optimistic outlook was shared by most IU fans. Fueled by a monster performance by Juwan Morgan, Indiana seemed to figure something out during that second half in Indianapolis, outscoring Notre…

Cathedral High School and Crispus Attucks battled earlier in the week for the Indianapolis city championship. The game featured multiple players who have heard from Indiana on the recruiting front. Cathedral junior guard Tayshawn Comer (15.8 ppg, 5.7 apg) is someone who have spoken to here before. He is No. 12 in white. His teammate Vincent Brady (#2, 15.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg) is a 6-foot-4 senior guard that can go Division One. Jaxon Edwards (10) is a fast rising prospect, and Jake Davis (15), and Xavier Booker (34) are likely college players too. Attucks sophomore forward Jalen Hooks (11.2 ppg,…
It has been a growing trend in college football, and one that IU head coach Tom Allen enthusiastically supports. It is how quarterback Michael Penix nearly stepped in and claimed the starting quarterback job in week one as a true freshman, and briefly took the job over weeks later. Indiana has welcomed four true freshmen as January early enrollees in the class of 2021, along with three transfers. For the freshmen, that means foregoing their final semester of high school and diving right into power-five college football. The option doesn’t work for everyone. The player has to have the right…
