Although the 2020-21 college basketball season is only seven weeks old, we are already roughly halfway through the pandemic shortened 27-game slate. The Cleveland Cavaliers’ injuries have become former IU star Yogi Ferrell’s latest opportunity. The Cavaliers have signed Ferrell to a 10-day contract, the team announced on Monday. Cleveland was granted a hardship exception by the NBA in order to acquire Ferrell. The hardship exception is a temporary roster spot granted by the league. It allows a team to exceed the 15-man maximum roster when it has at least four players who are sick or injured for longer than two weeks.
