Three-year IU forward Malik Reneau is in the transfer portal. “I want to thank Coach Woodson and his entire staff for giving me an opportunity to play at Indiana.  I will miss the fans and all the great people in Bloomington,” he said in an Instagram post. Darian DeVries will be the 31st head coach of the IU basketball program, multiple outlets are reporting. Pete Thamel and Jeff Borzello of ESPN first reported late Tuesday afternoon DeVries was the IU target to replace Mike Woodson. Multiple national outlets, including ESPN, followed with the news that Indiana was set to hire DeVries. An Iowa native, DeVries completely rebuilt West Virginia this past season, his lone year in Morgantown. Multiple outlets are reporting guard Gabe Cupps has entered the transfer portal. Cupps arrived at Indiana as part of the class of 2023 and played two seasons with the Hoosiers. The 6-foot-2 Cupps was not expected to play a major role as a freshman in 2023-24, but he was thrust into significant minutes when veteran point guard Xavier Johnson dealt with multiple injuries. The Mike Woodson era is over. The NCAA Tournament bracket was announced on Sunday evening, and Indiana was left out of the field. The Hoosiers (19-13) were the second highest graded team left out of the field, the CBS broadcast crew revealed.
