The Hoosiers will look to avoid their first losing streak of the season on Saturday afternoon. IU basketball stars collided when A.J. Guyton interviewed Tom Coverdale on the House of Hoosier podcast. Coverdale appeared in 115 games from 1999 to 2003, starting 98 times. Former IU basketball star OG Anunoby signed a new 4-year $72 million contract earlier this week.  He discussed the new deal with the media. The 6-foot-7 Anunoby is now in his fourth season in the NBA, all with the Toronto Raptors. Now 23 years old, Anunoby scored 8 points in a season opening loss to New Orleans on Wednesday.  He added 8 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks and 2 assists in 36 minutes of action. The first red flag of the season went up on Wednesday night.  And Happy Holidays to you. Most preseason prognostications had Northwestern as a bottom-feeder in a rugged-looking Big Ten. The Wildcats are no doubt better than what folks thought, but if a 74-67 home loss to Northwestern foretells what is to come in league play, well, it could be a long season. For the third straight year, Indiana quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. will be in rehab mode during the offseason. And for the third straight year, IU expects to have their star performer back for the start of the following season. Penix had surgery on his torn ACL earlier this month after falling awkwardly against Maryland on Nov. 28.  It was the second time Penix tore his ACL in his right knee.
