As The Daily Hoosier reported last week, class of 2025 top-40 center Eric Reibe moved up his IU official visit two weeks to Sept. 20. Today, On3’s Joe Tipton is reporting Reibe will now visit Oregon the weekend previously set for the IU visit, Oct. 4-6.  That visit was moved up as well. If Indiana has revenge on their minds when it comes to Nebraska, that opportunity will arrive early in the Big Ten portion of the 2024-25 season. Jon Rothstein is reporting IU’s first true road game of the season will be Dec. 13 when the Hoosiers travel to Lincoln to face the Cornhuskers.  That’s Friday the 13th if you’re the superstitious type, and keeping score at home. A coming boon for college athletes is keeping athletic department staffers up a night. Beginning in 2025, direct payments to college athletes are expected to reach around $22 million annually at a school like Indiana, and increase by percentage points over the following years. That’s as a result of a landmark legal settlement of three antitrust cases against the NCAA expected to be fully approved in court in the months ahead. Preseason impressions of Indiana are rapidly evolving. The Hoosiers (2-0) will travel to Southern California this weekend as a favorite when they face UCLA at the Rose Bowl. Indiana opened as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the Bruins at FanDuel Sportsbook, and as of Sunday morning that line has moved to IU minus 3.5. Meanwhile, ESPN’s FPI currently projects IU has a 58.5% chance to win in Pasadena this weekend.  This is a massive change from the preseason projection, when FPI gave the Hoosiers just a 21.7% chance to win at UCLA. As we previously reported, top-40 class of 2026 wing Aidan Chronister was in Bloomington for a visit this weekend. On Saturday afternoon, Chronister announced an offer from the Hoosiers. This was the Rogers, Ark. product’s third visit to IU.  He was at Indiana on multiple occasions last year, including a full day for Hoosier Hysteria in October. “Hearing from my dad, it has always been such a big program,” he told TDH in July.  “I’ve always heard about their fans, they’re crazy about basketball.  Indiana is known as a basketball state for sure.  And going there and seeing it definitely helped.”…

Nicolas Radicic’s 11th extra-point broke a record that stood for 123 years. With nine minutes left in the fourth quarter, Indiana reached 77 points on 11 touchdowns, their most points ever scored in a football game.  The Hoosiers led 77-3 to that point in the game and it turned out to be the final score. The previous record of 76 points was set in 1901 in an IU win over Franklin.  It was the first time the Hoosiers broke the 70-point mark since a 73-35 win over Indiana State in 2013, and fifth time they reached 70 points or more.…

Some of IU basketball’s all-time greats were almost never Hoosiers. The Big Ten’s all-time leading scorer and IU’s current Director of Player Development Calbert Cheaney has told the story many times how he played one of his worst high school games when Bob Knight came down to Evansville to watch him. According to multiple reports, class of 2026 wing Gabriel Sularski has scheduled an October unofficial visit to Indiana. This will be his third visit to the Indiana campus, following a March trip to see IU face Michigan State in Bloomington, and a visit last October for Hoosier Hysteria.  Indiana offered a scholarship during his visit for the MSU game. The 6-foot-6 Sularski is ranked No. 88 nationally in the junior class according to the On3 Average.
