Take a look back at what IU did well and what went wrong in their 69-67 overtime loss to Florida State on Wednesday night. Indiana’s offense is a work-in-a-process, but the Hoosiers were often able to take advantage of switching by FSU to create mismatches both on the perimeter and in the paint. IU’s spacing is improved this year, but as you will see, the Hoosiers are still working out the details to truly open things up in the half court. It is a bit of a broken record, but with better execution and shot-making, this 2020-21 offense has a…
“Earmuffs and blinders” is a common mantra heard from IU head football coach Tom Allen as he implores his team to ignore outside noise and distractions and stay focused on the task at hand. The noise this week must have been enough to permeate the earmuffs, because Allen had plenty to say about a very eventful week on his radio show with Don Fischer on Thursday night. And some of his most pointed remarks were directed at the College Football Playoff committee and their decision to leave Indiana ranked No. 12 after their road win over at the time No.…
There is no Old Oaken Bucket game to preview this week, but there was plenty to talk about. After a roller coaster ride that included Big Ten rule changes, a perceived College Football Playoff slight, a pause in all team activities, and the cancellation of this weekend’s game against Purdue — the agenda was full of hot topics on Tom Allen’s weekly radio show. Allen and IU football radio voice Don Fischer were joined by AD Scott Dolson to discuss the wild week that was. See also: Big Ten puts Ohio State in championship game | Old Oaken Bucket game…

An annoying upstart like Indiana lands a straight-flush on the flop, after its games against Penn State, Ohio State and Wisconsin are canceled due to COVID-19. Awash in good fortune, the lucky Hoosiers sit alone atop the Big Ten East with a 5-0 mark after the league’s financial darling, the Buckeyes, stumbled while enduring their full and unfair eight-game gauntlet. The solution was simple. Make sure Indiana, and all the other bottom-feeders that should simply be grateful to play in the Big Ten, can’t…
