Indiana head football coach Tom Allen joined IU radio voice Don Fischer on their weekly radio show to take a look back at the win over Rutgers and preview the game this Saturday against Michigan. Defensive coordinator Kane Wommack was the special guest at the end of the show. Indiana sophomore Tiawan Mullen isn’t helping his own cause. In an effort to get Mullen more involved in the run defense and utilize his dynamic skills in a variety of ways, defensive coordinator Kane Wommack has been putting the sophomore cornerback at the husky position. Mullen is happy to play the hybrid linebacker-safety position in Indiana’s 4-2-5 scheme. But the name husky? Ken Pomeroy picked an interesting time to drop his initial rankings. The college basketball analytics website KenPom.com released its initial rankings for the 2020-21 season at midnight on Election Night. Once again, the site projects the Big Ten to be a gauntlet for Indiana. According to the preseason rankings, KenPom has 13 of the league’s 14 teams in the top-70 and 8 teams in the top-26.  Indiana claims that 26th spot after finishing the 2019-20 season at No. 34. Indiana quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. met with the media this week to talk about the improvement of the offense, working with offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan, and early thoughts on Michigan. On the season, Penix is 36-of-62 passing (58.1 percent) for 408 yards.  The redshirt sophomore has thrown 4 touchdown passes and 1 interception.  Penix has added 2 rushing touchdowns thus far in 2020. Former IU basketball All-American A.J. Guyton interviewed IU basketball head coach Archie Miller this week. Guyton asked Miller about his upbringing in a basketball household, his playing career, and a series of questions about life in Bloomington and coaching in the Big Ten. Miller played five seasons at N.C. State from 1997 to 2002.  He is entering his fourth season at IU and tenth overall campaign as a head coach.  He has a 55-43 mark during his time and Indiana, and a 194-106 career record including six seasons at Dayton.
