While its 2019-20 season was historic, Indiana didn’t get to finish what it started. If there is a silver lining, the Hoosiers appear set to begin the 2020-21 campaign about where they left off — at least in the eyes of the national media. Head coach Teri Moren had IU squarely on the bubble in terms of being one of the 16 teams that earns home games during the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament. According to a preseason assessment by the women’s college basketball analysts (Charlie Creme, Graham Hays and Mechelle Voepel) at ESPN, IU is once again…

The IU football program began rapid testing for COVID-19 nearly two weeks ago. And while things can change quickly with the spread of a virus on a college campus, so far there have been almost no cases of COVID-19 since the team implemented the new approach. Head coach Tom Allen shared the latest testing results on Monday. “Since we have gone to the rapid testing, which is a daily test that our school administers, we have had over 1,200 tests with only one positive,” Allen told reporters on a video conference. The lone individual that tested positive was not a…

The Indiana defense suffered a major setback long before the delayed 2020 season got started. Husky Marcelino Ball has suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season. Head coach Tom Allen broke the news on a video conference with the media on Monday. The injury was non-contact, resulting from planting on the turf according to Allen. In his fifth year at IU, 2020 was expected to be Ball’s final season with the program. He also suffered a season ending injury three weeks into the 2017 season after making the ESPN and BTN All-Freshman team in 2016. Under new…
Favour Aire’s size has always been an asset when it comes to sports. But up until recently, he had no idea that basketball in the U.S. would be his chosen path as an athlete. As a soccer defender and goalie in Nigeria, Aire’s size and athleticism presented a substantial obstacle to opposing attacks. Perhaps he would become an international soccer star? Instead, Aire was noticed on the hardwood just over three years ago — and suddenly, everything changed. Aire only took up the game of basketball in the 7th grade. Now in Maryland, he has traded in the cleats for…

“Much more in the realm of how we want to do it.” Did you catch that? Indiana head basketball coach Archie Miller let us all in on a little secret at his last media availability in late July. How he wants to do it is “more perimeter oriented with more guard play” as Miller put it. By logical inference, how he did it last year — with a two power-forward and one center starting lineup — was how Miller didn’t want to do it. But he did it. 31 out of 32 games, the combination of Justin Smith, Trayce Jackson-Davis…

While that may end up being the case, Hopkins’ father Clyde said…
The state of Indiana is loaded in the trenches in the high school class of 2022. One of the best is Fort Wayne Snider offensive lineman Demon Moore. A 4-star recruiting target, the 6-foot-4 and 295 pound Moore is the No. 274 player overall in the class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite.
