Indiana’s class of 2022 priority targets continue to emerge. IU head coach Archie Miller offered top-40 guard Jordan Hood-Schifino on Wednesday. Hood-Schifino announced the offer on his Instagram page. Hood-Schifino originally committed to Pittsburgh in December, 2019, but backed out this summer.  As with Miller and new assistant Kenya Hunter, Hood-Schifino is from the Pittsburgh area. Indiana has at least seven active recruitments ongoing in the class, and one commitment.  Below we summarize where each player stands in the latest rankings along with some updated commentary on their recruitment as it relates to IU. The IU basketball program formally introduced new assistant coach Kenya Hunter today. The program broke some news in its announcement when it clarified that Hunter will be a co-associate head coach along with fellow assistant Tom Ostrom. Statements from both head coach Archie Miller and Hunter are below.  Hunter’s background prior to arriving in Bloomington is further below. Alex Dickerson hit them early, far, and often on Tuesday night. The former IU slugger had a three home run and five extra base hit night in Colorado as the Giants routed the Rockies 23-5. Indiana was going to kick off one of its more promising football seasons in program history this Friday. Of course the 2020 Big Ten campaign has been postponed, and now we know how the league’s leadership, including IU President Michael McRobbie, voted on the decision to hit pause. The offers keep coming on a busy afternoon for the IU basketball program. Class of 2022 small forward Justin Taylor was at least the third player to report a scholarship offer from Indiana on Monday. The Kenya Hunter effect continues. For the second time today and third time in three days, Indiana has offered a prospect with ties to its new assistant coach. Through Hunter, Indiana has gotten involved with one of the top guards in the class of 2022 in Maryland based prospect Rodney Rice.  After a Zoom call on Monday that was reported by Stock Risers, the Hoosiers offered a scholarship.
