According to a report by Fox 59 in Indianapolis, police have arrested a man that may be connected to the murder of former IU football player Chris Beaty. 23 year old Alijah Jones is accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint in a parking garage in late May in downtown Indianapolis. Marion County court filings indicate that Jones is a witness or suspect in Beaty’s murder, which happened at around the same time and in the same area as the North Delaware Street parking garage where the woman was robbed. The odds have been stacked against Kyle Hart ever seeing this day since 2014. On Thursday, the former IU ace will defy those odds. Hart will take the mound for the Boston Red Sox this afternoon, making his first Major League Baseball appearance. In the process he will become the 31st former IU baseball player to make an appearance in the big leagues. The 6-foot-5 lefthander has toiled away in the minor leagues after being selected by Boston in the 19th round of the 2016 MLB draft. UPDATE: In a new report on Thursday, Griffin indicated that he intends to stay at Syracuse. Just a day after the news broke that former IU assistant coach Bruiser Flint was leaving the program, a name has surfaced as a possible replacement. Syracuse.com’s Mike Waters is reporting via sources that IU head coach Archie Miller is courting Syracuse assistant Allen Griffin to join the staff in Bloomington. Griffin played at Syracuse under Jim Boeheim from 1997 to 2001, and he joined the Orange coaching staff in 2017. A native of New York, Griffin works primarily with the centers at Syracuse.…
