Cincinnati, Ohio based center Logan Duncomb committed to Indiana last week, providing the Hoosiers with a much needed post presence in the class of 2021. Below are more than five minutes of junior season highlights of the 6-foot-9 forward.  Duncomb averaged 13.8 points and 8.5 rebounds for a 26-1 Moeller squad during the 2019-20 season. Legendary actor Brian Dennehy passed away today at the age of 81. While Dennehy is known for many more memorable roles, he crossed into the IU basketball realm when he portrayed another legend — former Hoosier head coach Bob Knight. “A Season on the Brink: A Year with Bob Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers” is based on the best-selling book by John Feinstein. The movie chronicles Indiana’s 1985-86 season, when Knight granted Feinstein unprecedented access to the team and its practices, meetings, and huddles. Nine Indiana basketball players that saw the floor during the season will be back for the 2020-21 campaign as of this writing.  While formal practices have concluded, the work never stops for high major college basketball players.  Growth and development happens in the offseason, in individual workouts and permitted organized team activities. Indiana offensive line coach Darren Hiller joined a teleconference on Monday. Also the Hoosiers’ run game coordinator, Hiller discussed the latest with his group’s preparations during the pandemic, the emergence of leadership, and the move of Harry Crider to center. Fortunately for Nick Sheridan, there were no plans to implement a complete overhaul of Indiana’s offense during the spring. With his entire offense and coaching staff dispersed throughout the country, that might have proven to be impossible. As we reported last week, the IU women’s basketball program landed three new recruits last week, including two players that will be part of the 2020-21 roster. The program formally announced the addition of Nicole Cardaño-Hillary and Chloe Moore-McNeil today. In a release from IU, head coach Teri Moren commented on each player. With Rob Phinisee on course to use his eligibility in 2022 and incoming commit Khristian Lander almost certainly not a four year player, Indiana projects to have a clear need for a point guard in the not so distant future.
