One of Indiana’s top class of 2021 recruiting targets is starting the process of narrowing things down. 5-star Missouri based shooting guard/wing Aminu Mohammed is targeting dates both to cut down his list of potential college landing spots, and to ultimately announce his decision. A source tells The Daily Hoosier that Mohammed is likely to announce a list cut in August. The Daily Hoosier expects IU to be one of the teams that Mohammed continues to evaluate as a potential college destination. Multiple reports indicate that former IU basketball player and Indiana Mr. Basketball Steve Bouchie has passed away at the age of 59. Bouchie suffered a heart attack last week. A native of Washington, Ind., Bouchie won the state’s Mr. Basketball award following his senior season in 1979. He averaged 27 points and 15 rebounds during the 1978-79 campaign. Bouchie helped Washington reach the semi-state round of the Indiana boys high school basketball tournament twice. Bouchie was the first of four Mr. Basketball winners from Washington. Tyler, Luke and Cody Zeller all late won the honor while playing for the Hatchets.…

The son of a former IU player is firmly on the Hoosier radar. 6-foot-3 guard/wing Amire Robinson is the son of former IU guard Stew Robinson. The family lives in Akron, Ohio and Amire attends Copley High School. Amire currently plays with the 2023 Indiana Elite AAU program. Indiana University Athletics provided the following update on Friday afternoon regarding its testing of athletes for COVID-19 on campus this summer. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Department of Athletics administered 112 COVID-19 tests from June 24-July 8, 2020, for student-athletes, coaches and staff, with four positive and 108 negative tests reported. Testing began on June 8 as a part of IU’s return to campus protocol, and four positive and 295 negative tests have been received overall.
