Wisconsin defeated Indiana by a final score of 60-56 on Saturday afternoon at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind. The stakes couldn’t be higher in the Big Ten finale for Indiana and Wisconsin. Winners of seven in a row, the Badgers arrive with a chance to earn a share of the Big Ten regular season title. The Hoosiers meanwhile can seemingly lock down their first NCAA Tournament invite since 2016.  That would be the first appearance in the event for outgoing seniors Devonte Green and De’Ron Davis.  Both players will be recognized after the game. Indiana is headed to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for the first time since 2006. The Hoosiers took care of Rutgers on Friday by a final score of 78-60 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. IU took an eight point lead into halftime and maintained that margin throughout most of the second half. The Hoosiers were led by redshirt junior guard Ali Patberg with 28 points.  The Columbus, Ind. product had 14 points in the first quarter to help IU jump out to an early lead that they would never relinquish.  A Patberg three-pointer gave Indiana a 7-4 lead at…

Indiana head coach Tom Allen met with the media on Friday to provide an overall program update prior to spring practice. Joining Allen was Indiana starting quarterback Michael Penix.  The redshirt sophomore quarterback is fully recovered from surgery in November. Indiana begins spring practice on Saturday.  The annual Cream and Crimson spring game is on April 17 at Memorial Stadium. Indiana senior guard Devonte Green has had his share of detractors in the IU fan base during his four years with the program. On Friday Green was asked what he would like to say to the less supportive segment of the Hoosier fan base as he prepares to play his final home game on Saturday afternoon against Wisconsin. But before he could begin to answer, his fellow senior De’Ron Davis, sitting to Green’s left and likely imagining what might be said if Green could really speak his mind, couldn’t fight back the laughter. Indiana head coach Archie Miller met with the media on Friday afternoon to discuss Saturday’s game against Wisconsin. Tomorrow will be the final home game for seniors De’Ron Davis and Devonte Green.  Both players took questions after Miller. The Hoosiers (19-11, 9-10) will host Wisconsin at Noon ET on Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.  Green and Davis will speak to the crowd after the game. Finally some good offseason news for the Indiana football program.  And it is a reversal of bad news. Sampson James’ stay in the transfer portal didn’t last long. As permitted under the NCAA’s system for facilitating transfers, multiple reports have indicated that James will remain with the IU football program. Playing in a reserve role behind starter Stevie Scott, the 6-foot-1 and 220 pound James carried the ball 81 times for 275 yards (3.4 ypc) and three touchdowns for the 2019 season.  James also caught two passes for 21 yards. The progression has been exactly what you’d want to see for a program on the rise. NIT Championship, NCAA second round, and now, program records are falling.  The Indiana women’s basketball team recorded a best ever 13th win in Big Ten play and tied the record for total wins in a season (23) with their regular season ending win over Michigan on Sunday. After suffering through a three game losing streak in January, it didn’t look like the Hoosiers would reach those lofty measures this season.  With just one senior on the roster, IU was still a year away many…

New Indiana defensive line coach Kevin Peoples met with the media on Wednesday to discuss his new role. Peoples arrives via Tulane, where he spent the past four seasons coaching the Green Wave’s D-line.
