With losses in five of their last six games, IU basketball’s chances of playing postseason basketball are on the decline six weeks ahead of Selection Sunday. Before this 2024-25 IU basketball season started there was healthy debate among both the fanbase and the media about how a group of talented players would fit together to form a functioning basketball team. The most common question was whether Mike Woodson’s Hoosiers would be able to play effectively with transfer center Oumar Ballo and Malik Reneau both on the floor. Indiana landed a commitment from 6-foot-4 class of 2026 Australian center Zoe Jackson over the weekend. She announced the news on her Instagram page. “I am so beyond blessed and excited to announce my commitment Indiana University,” Jackson said.  “I first just want to thank Coach Moren and her staff for believing in me and allowing me to continue my basketball journey at Indiana University.” The 17-year-old Jackson has played on the Australian national team for her age group for each of the last three years.  She also played in the U.S. at the Nike Tournament of Champions recently against…

Former IU basketball star Jalen Hood-Schifino will go down as part of one of the biggest trades in NBA history. Hood-Schifino is headed to the Utah Jazz as part of a deal that sees the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz agree to swap Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported late Saturday. Curt Cignetti and the IU football program have landed their first commit in the class of 2026. Three-star interior offensive lineman Samuel Simpson has committed to Indiana, he announced on Saturday. The River Falls, Wisc. product chose the Hoosiers over Iowa, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Kansas, Illinois, and others. For the second straight game, Indiana suffered from questionable late game decision making in a crushing Big Ten loss. What happened after Purdue’s Trey Kaufman-Renn made a 12-foot jump hook with 11 seconds remaining to give the Boilermakers a 77-76 lead? Indiana had a chance to change the direction of their season.  But the song remains the same.
