Okay, let’s get the cliche out of the way first. No, of course technically Indiana (15-7, 5-6) does not have to beat Purdue on Saturday to make the NCAA Tournament. And let’s be real here, at this point in the season, knowing what we know about this IU team, the NCAA Tournament is the only real goal left. Contention for a top four spot in the Big Ten standings, a run in the Big Ten Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16 — all of that seems silly to be talking about at this point. Unless head coach Archie Miller is…

Indiana 2020 signees Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal both had marquee matchups on Saturday. And both future Hoosiers delivered in dramatic wins for Culver Academies and Bloomington South. Culver was taken to overtime by No. 5 Cathedral on its home floor before emerging with a 69-58 victory after the extra session. Galloway delivered 27 points including an electrifying highlight reel play that showed off the 6-foot-4 guard’s versatile talents and athleticism. You can watch highlights from the game including that play as well as Galloway’s post-game comments here. https://youtu.be/nGMmfrZ8hzc Culver is now 12-4 on the season. Meanwhile in Sellersburg, Ind.,…
A season in crisis? That might be overstating where things stand, but now on their first three game losing streak of the season, Indiana is clearly a team heading in the wrong direction at the wrong time. After losing 12 out of 13 during the 2018-19 season, it is impossible to not wonder if things are headed down the same path now. This is a different team and a different season, but the attributes that gave the Hoosiers an identity early on seem to be fading, and the issues that IU struggled to escape last year seem to be resurfacing.…
