Just when everything appeared to be looking up, IU suffered a devastating home loss. After rallying from a 14 point first half deficit, the Hoosiers let a seven point lead of their own slip away in the final two minutes of the game. A 77-76 loss to Maryland at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington on Sunday could come back to haunt Indiana if things get tight when it comes to choosing the field for the NCAA Tournament. Now the mental toughness of this team will be tested. The Big Ten schedule does not let up of course, and IU…

What’s that you say? Indiana in the top 25 again? The Hoosiers haven’t appeared in the national rankings in more than a year, but with a little revenge on Sunday IU looks like a lock to return. To get there Indiana will have to overcome a team that humbled them just three weeks ago. Maryland beat IU 75-59 at College Park on Jan. 4 in a game that the Hoosiers were within three points with under 15 minutes to play. And while that sounds like a close game, Indiana trailed by 30 just ten minutes later on the game clock.…

It is too soon to talk about season turning points, but here is one to keep in your back pocket. Trailing at home against Northwestern 50-48, Indiana guard Al Durham missed a free throw badly. As the ball caromed off the rim towards the sidelines, Joey Brunk’s hand emerged seemingly out of nowhere. After Brunk was able to tap the ball into the backcourt, he flew into his own teammates on the IU bench. Durham was able to secure the loose ball and would end up back at the foul line where he would tie the game at 50 apiece. …

The Hall was rocking on Thursday night, and for the first time in what seems like a long time, it appears that the home team might be on to something here. Behind a boisterous crowd at the nearly full Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Indiana jumped on Michigan State early and found a way to hang on and pull out a 67-63 win over the No. 9/11 Spartans. Is the aura and mystique of IU’s home floor back after five losses there last season? The win over Michigan State marks the fifth-straight win over a ranked team at Simon Skjodt Assembly…
