In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Indiana University has made several adjustments to upcoming events, including banning all attendance at sporting events through the end of the 2019-20 season. Basketball took a backseat in Indianapolis on Wednesday night. With the coronavirus reaching global pandemic status, and the NBA suspending its season, many were concerned that the affliction was playing out on the court at the Big Ten Tournament. Indiana defeated Nebraska by a final score of 89-64 on Wednesday night in a first round Big Ten Tournament matchup at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. As Big Ten Tournament play begins, this is simply one the Hoosiers cannot afford to lose. Irrespective of where you think Indiana is as it relates to the NCAA Tournament, there can be no missteps against a reeling Nebraska program.  The optics would simply be too damaging.  The last place Cornhuskers announced on Monday that they would be without starting guards Cam Mack (12 ppg) and Dachon Burke (12.2 ppg) this week, their second and third leading scorers this season. At the time, at least by historic Indiana football standards, it felt like nothing could go wrong. A win at Purdue, Indiana’s eighth of the season, was soon followed by an invite to the prestigious Gator Bowl.  IU had just completed a regular season that saw it reach the top 25 for the first time since 1994, and achieve its highest win total since 1993.
