Former IU hurler Aaron Slegers recently joined the Turn a Pair podcast to relive his Indiana career and discuss his life as a professional pitcher. A former walk-on turned fifth round MLB draft choice, Slegers helped Indiana win the 2013 Big Ten regular-season championship and the conference tournament.  He was named the Big Ten Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Year after going 9-2 with a 2.04 ERA in 2013.  Slegers had several strong outings as IU advanced to the 2013 College World Series. Very few professional athletes have been as ubiquitous as Cody Zeller during the COVID-19 pandemic, and Mother’s Day was no exception. Zeller joined a Charlotte Hornets video conference with his mom to review childhood family photos. Indiana picked up a new addition to its offensive line on Sunday afternoon. Riverside Community College tackle Chris Bradberry announced that he has committed to play for IU this fall. The junior college product broke the news on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/Brad72Chris/status/1259578539407335424?s=20 A class of 2017 recruit, Bradberry started his college career at San Jose State before transferring to junior college. It has been a tragic Mother’s Day weekend for a member of the IU football program. According to a WTHR report, Cassondra M. Wilson, the mother of IU redshirt junior wide receiver Cam Wilson, was the victim of a fatal shooting at an apartment in Columbus, Ind. on Friday night. Cam Wilson’s father Troy Wilson was found deceased in Indianapolis on Saturday.  Indianapolis Metro Police investigators considered Troy Wilson a person of interest in the investigation of his ex-wife Cassondra’s death, according to the WTHR report. Below are some recent highlights of class of 2022 Indiana offer recipient Chris Livingston. Livingston averaged 32.5 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.4 blocks per game as a sophomore for Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio. He scored 50 points in a game once and went for 40 points or more six times. Indiana offered the 6-foot-5 guard last August.  A five-star recruit, Livingston is the No. 3 player overall in the class of 2022 and the No. 1 overall shooting guard.  He will be playing up a year for AAU if it occurs this summer. After losing an in-state defensive end verbal commit in the class of 2021 last week, Indiana will be working hard to fill that opening. When it comes to other in-state targets in the incoming senior class, the top rated defensive end on the board is Pike (Indianapolis) High School’s Kyran Montgomery.  The 6-foot-4 and 215 pound Montgomery is a higher-end three star rated recruit.  He is currently ranked No. 406 overall in the class according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 24 weak-side defensive end nationally, and the No. 6 player  in the state. The high major offers are starting to roll in for an intriguing east coast talent in the class of 2022. 6-foot-10 forward Kyle Filipowski has been offered by UCLA, Providence and Vanderbilt in recent weeks, and he is firmly on the Indiana radar.
