It was a quick change for Damezi Anderson. After announcing last week that he was tranfering from Indiana, the 6-foot-7 Anderson has found a new home. Indiana has added a Michigan speedster to their 2021 recruiting class. Auburn Hills based running back David Holloman announced on Thursday that he has verbally committed to IU. One of the more memorable games in the history of IU women’s basketball came a few weeks before their 2018 WNIT title. The Hoosiers survived a four overtime thriller against Michigan State at the Big Ten Tournament on March 1, 2018. Head coach Teri Moren and 2018 seniors Tyra Buss and Amanda Cahill joined BTN to relive the final minutes of regulation and the four extra sessions. Former Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell was on the QB Docs podcast recently. Chappell was named the team’s 2010 Anthony Thompson Most Valuable Player. He closed out his career as IU’s career leader in completion percentage (61.1), completions (651), attempts (1,066), 300-yard games (nine), 250-yard games (13) and 200-yard games (18), ranked second in passing yardage (7,251) and passing touchdowns (45), and finished third in total offense (7,331). With a point guard and center locked up in the class of 2021, Indiana is focused on filling the positions in between. During a time when not much feels normal, class of 2022 quarterback Brady Allen is able to find familiarity with the IU football coaching staff. Although Indiana lost its offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach during the offseason, the replacement has been a constant in Allen’s recruitment for nearly two years. Indiana junior forward Justin Smith put his name in the NBA Draft as an early entrant according to a report by the league. The 6-foot-7, 230 pound Smith appeared in all 32 games for the 2019-20 season and started each contest. The Illinois native averaged 30.3 minutes per game, which was in increase from his 24.7 minutes as a sophomore — and a team high. Former IU guard Yogi Ferrell was on The Baseline podcast this week. Ferrell touched on a number of topics including how he has spent the time since the pandemic started, his passion for helping foster kids as a result of his mom’s upbringing in the foster care system, and much more.
