Indiana had multiple coaches on hand to watch a matchup between two defending state champions and two of their top targets in the class of 2021. Silver Creek’s Trey Kaufman and Blackhawk Christian’s Caleb Furst went head-to-head at Southport High School on Saturday night in connection with the Forum Tip-off Classic. While IU head coach Archie Miller and assistant coach Tom Ostrom came to see Kaufman and Furst, it was Kooper Jacobi that stole the show as he led Silver Creek to a 78-74 win. The 6-foot-6 Jacobi went for 36 points as he showed an ability to score from…

If Nebraska is the worst team in the Big Ten, this is going to be an interesting winter for Indiana. A 17 point favorite playing at home, the Hoosiers struggled to gain separation from the Cornhuskers and were eventually forced into overtime before pulling out a 96-90 win. Now the Hoosiers will have a chance to rest their bodies, take final exams, and have the good fortune of addressing what went wrong — after a win. Indiana (10-1, 1-1) will have the week off before traveling up to Indianapolis to face Notre Dame at the Crossroads Classic next Saturday. OVERALL…

The last time Nebraska came to Bloomington, a once promising season started to crumble. Already on a two game losing streak, but still 12-4, the Hoosiers needed a win in January over the Cornhuskers before heading out on the road for four of their next five contests. Instead, Nebraska scored the first nine points of the game and extended their lead to 25-7 midway through the first half. Under the direction of head coach Tim Miles and led by a veteran group of starters, Nebraska would lead wire-to-wire and leave Bloomington with a convincing 66-51 victory. The Indiana loss was…
While the Indiana football program has established a nice pipeline of talent that flows north to Bloomington, that hasn’t always come at the expense of Southeastern Conference programs. In fact, some Hoosier players hailing from the south were completely ignored by the football powerhouse conference. Playing in SEC country at the Gator Bowl against a team from that league in Tennessee, more than a couple IU players are relishing the opportunity to show others what they missed out on. As kids growing up in the southern part of the country, for some the Big Ten was out of sight and…
