I think it’s the most important position on the team,” Miller said. Depth is one thing, but a steady point guard is just as critical.  Indiana’s players understand this very well, and they recognize what an asset sophomore…

A key player returned and lessons were learned as Indiana picked up its ninth victory of the season in New York. In a game that was by no means a work of art, Indiana found a way in a hard fought contest against Connecticut at the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. Indiana (9-1, 0-1) will resume Big Ten play when they host Nebraska on Friday night at 8 p.m. ET at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.…

Although at one point the Hoosiers found themselves trailing by 30 points, there have been worse days in the history of the IU basketball program than Saturday at Wisconsin. Far worse. Back in 1994 head coach Bob Knight took an Indiana team that was right in the thick of the Big Ten race to Williams Arena to face Minnesota.  Indiana had defeated the Golden Gophers by 12 points a month earlier in Bloomington, and No. 12 IU arrived confident in Minneapolis for the rematch. What happened that day at Minnesota was almost inexplicable.  The perfect storm.  106-56, Golden Gophers. How…

“You’re going to run into some of these opportunities here where you’re going to have to find out a little bit about yourself.” That’s what Indiana head coach Archie Miller said after a disappointing 84-64 blowout loss to Wisconsin on Saturday. Miller could not have been thrilled with what he found out about his team in Madison.  Perhaps most troubling, what became apparent to him during the course of the game was something that has seemingly plagued all of his IU teams during his nearly three year tenure in Bloomington. “The thing I took away most importantly is where we…
