A long overdue honor came last weekend when IU legend and the Big Ten’s all-time leading scorer Calbert Cheaney was inducted into the college basketball hall of fame.  In connection with the ceremony, several of Cheaney’s former teammates and others with IU basketball ties created a tribute video. Familiar faces appear on the video including former players Todd Leary, Brian Evans, Victor Oladipo, Pat Graham, head coach Archie Miller and former Big Ten official Ed Hightower. If there were any doubters remaining, they have no doubt gotten on board now. Trailing by four heading into the fourth quarter, the No. 17 Indiana women put together a dominant final period, outscoring No. 5 South Carolina 24-6 on their way to one of the biggest victories in the history of the program. Success on the field is translating to results on the recruiting trail as IU has plucked a defensive tackle out of Georgia and out of the hands of several prominent suitors. Georgia prospect Damarjhe Lewis announced his commitment to Indiana on Thursday. If it comes to it, Indiana head coach Archie Miller has a last resort option to get his point guard feeling better and back out on the court. “I told him after the game, grab five Advil, get a piece of tape and tape them all over your body because maybe that’s the only thing we can do is tape it to him and he can absorb it, I don’t know,” Miller said on Monday night after Indiana’s 88-75 win over Louisiana Tech. Indiana high school basketball is underway for the 2019-20 season, and with that IU’s commits and recruiting targets are back on the hardwood. Culver Academies senior guard Trey Galloway had a big game in a win against Rock Island (Ill.) on Tuesday night.  The IU commit had 35 points to lead the Eagles.  You can watch highlights of Galloway below.  As he told The Daily Hoosier this summer, the 6-foot-4 guard is assuming more primary ball handling duties this season.
