Indiana’s 12 round knockout over Ohio State on Saturday wasn’t for the faint of heart. If you got 19 minutes in that Big Ten slugfest, it’s because your coach thought you were doing something right. Indiana football head coach Tom Allen met with the media this weekend to introduce new offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan. The 31 year old Sheridan steps into the role after spending three years with the program as the quarterbacks coach and tight ends coach.  He replaces Kalen DeBoer, who is the new head coach at Fresno State. Midway through the second half against Northwestern on Wednesday night, it looked like a season was cratering. Just a few days later, the Hoosiers picked up one of their biggest wins over the last few years against No. 11 Ohio State. It was the sixth game in the Archie Miller era that the Hoosiers have defeated a ranked team, and at least for a little while, some recent struggles faded into the background. Back and forth we go. Former Indiana basketball player Alan Henderson addressed the crowd on Saturday afternoon at halftime of the Ohio State game. Dozens of former IU players were at the game in connection with a program alumni event put on by the school. Ready or not, here comes the meat of the schedule. Oh wait, you thought that already started?  It gets much, much worse. On Saturday Indiana begins a 16 game gauntlet to close out the regular season that features 15 teams ranked in the KenPom top 38 as of this writing. The IU football program formally announced that Nick Sheridan would be its next offensive coordinator on Friday. You can watch his first interview in the new role with the legendary voice of IU football and basketball Don Fischer.
