Periodically through the spring and summer we will bring you the best of the AAU videos of Indiana basketball recruiting targets. Below is more than 11 minutes of action from a game last Sunday in the Dallas area in connection with the Nike EYBL circuit. The two primary players to watch are in blue — No. 25 Ethan Morton and No. 2 RJ Davis. Indiana offered Morton in 2018. He was the first player in the 2020 class that IU offered. The Pittsburgh area native averaged 27.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game during his junior season at…
Just over a year ago on April 30, 2018, Romeo Langford announced that he was going to stay home and play his college basketball in the state of Indiana. Could there be a Langford homecoming 2.0 in the near future? At least some NBA Draft analysts believe that may happen. As it stands right now, Langford can generally be found somewhere in the No. 8 to No. 20 range in most mock NBA Drafts. Lately the 6-foot-6 shooting guard has been found more towards the tail end of that range, which is right in the neighborhood of the Indiana Pacers,…

As is to be expected, the April college basketball recruiting live period came and went with a flurry of activity. After an exhausting weekend watching recruits virtually nonstop, the Indiana coaching staff has followed that up by watching workouts, conducting in-home visits and issuing scholarship offers this week. Embedded in all of this activity are a lot of clues, both about the near and long-term path of the IU basketball program. THE WRITING SEEMS TO BE ON THE WALL WITH THE CLASS OF 2019 As it stands right now, IU has two open scholarships on its 2019-20 roster. It is…
Wednesday afternoon update — Indiana offered Davis a scholarship today after meeting with Davis today: https://twitter.com/step_basketball/status/1123703679612268546 When the Indiana coaching staff visits a prospect twice over the course of two weeks, it is time to take note. That is the case with 2020 point guard RJ Davis, who Archie Miller is visiting today based on reports: https://twitter.com/Andrew__Slater/status/1123311751448211456 Just over a week ago IU coaches were at Archbishop Stepinac High School in New York to watch Davis. https://twitter.com/lohudinsider/status/1120394794763726848 Sandwiched in between those visits was an incredibly impressive AAU weekend in Atlanta on the Nike EYBL circuit. Playing for the New York…
Indiana head basketball coach Archie Miller is determined to get a primary ball handler in the class of 2020. For more than a year the top target in that regard has been St. Louis area product Caleb Love. Continuing that pursuit, Miller visited Love in-home on Tuesday. Love attends Christian Brothers in St. Louis and he led his team to the state finals as a junior. He is ranked as the No. 32 player in the country in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 5 point guard. At 6-foot-3, Love is a big point guard…
Indiana continues to actively issue scholarship offers in the class of 2020 after the April live recruiting period. The latest incoming high school senior to receive an IU offer is Minnesota native Dawson Garcia. The IU coaching staff visited Garcia on Tuesday evening and issued the offer in person. He announced the offer on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Dawson23lee/status/1123428602182275074 Although he is 6-foot-11, Garcia is not a traditional back to the basket big man. The Prior Lake product has ball handling ability and can pass and knock down perimeter shots. According to the 247Sports Composite, Garcia is the No. 29 player in the…
Indiana has made up substantial ground since entering the mix for 2019 4-star guard Lester Quinones a few months ago. When the New York native announced his “final seven” schools in February, the Hoosiers’ odds seemed slim, with at least one 247Sports recruiting analyst describing IU as a “very big longshot.” An official visit to Bloomington last week seems to have helped the cause substantially, and now the Hoosiers appear to be in the final two for the talented shooting guard. On an appearance today on 92.9 FM in Memphis, Quinones discussed the latest with his recruitment. He indicated that…
Indiana head coach Archie Miller just doubled down on the “inside out” in-state recruiting initiative. After spending much of the weekend watching them play in Dallas, Miller has offered 2020 four-star shooting guards Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway today during in-home visits. Leal hails from Bloomington, Ind., while Galloway attends Culver Academies in Culver, Ind. The Galloway offer was first announced today by 247Sports ($). Leal announced his offer via Twitter this evening: https://twitter.com/anthonyl3al/status/1123015034408505344 Leal and Galloway are teammates on the Indiana Elite AAU squad that competes on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit. Indiana coaches watched the duo all weekend in…
