Final Four weekend is upon us, and just a few short months ago there was chatter in some circles that Indiana was a sneaky pick to be playing in Minneapolis this weekend. We all know how that worked out. While the 2018-19 Hoosier season will be thought of by many as a disappointment, there is nothing more painful than watching a legitimate title contender fail to reach the Final Four. Here are our eight picks for the best Indiana teams that didn’t make the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament: 2012-13 (29-7, 14-4) It was to be the final step…
Growing old and staying old seems to be all the rage in college basketball these days. With Kentucky’s one-and-done revolving circus missing the Final Four for the fourth straight year, and Duke’s insanely hyped “can’t miss” 2018-19 team, well, missing, some believe that a perpetually young roster is no longer a reliable path to championships — if it ever was. The Final Four teams, on the other hand, are largely comprised of veterans. They are by no means the most experienced teams in the country, but they aren’t relying on a cast of characters right out of high school either.…

One of the best quarterback competitions in the history of the Indiana football program is underway. With the news yesterday that freshman Jack Tuttle will be eligible to play in 2019, a three-man battle is underway for the starting job this fall — and all three seem to have a legitimate chance to be the winner. Tuttle, Michael Penix and Peyton Ramsey all spoke today in connection with spring practice. Tuttle and Penix both have four years of eligibility remaining while Ramsey has two. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCqPoKMMSRU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDpwbNBrZ24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXAKEAChTts Video Credit – Indiana University Athletics You can follow us on Twitter: @daily_hoosier Find…
As was widely expected, Indiana freshman guard Romeo Langford will declare for the 2019 NBA Draft. The New Albany, Ind. native told ESPN that “I plan on officially declaring for the draft next week.” Before the draft, Langford will have surgery on his right thumb today in connection with an injury that was suffered early in the season. “I hurt my thumb right before the Duke game in practice,” Langford said to ESPN. The ESPN report indicates that Langford delayed surgery during the season to stay with the team, and that he will make a full recovery prior to pre-draft workouts…

The Indiana University football program received big news from the NCAA on Wednesday. Quarterback Jack Tuttle, who transferred from the University of Utah to Indiana in December has been cleared to play this fall and will have four seasons of eligibility remaining. Tuttle was born in Indianapolis and is the son of former IU walk-on kicker Jay Tuttle. A former four-star recruit, Tuttle was one of the top ten rated quarterbacks in the country in the class of 2017. His offers included Alabama, LSU, Wisconsin and Nebraska. The NCAA waiver sets up what should be a great quarterback competition between…
Multiple outlets are reporting that freshman forward Jake Forrester has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Hailing from Pennsylvania, Forrester played in 13 games during the 2018-19 season for Indiana. He averaged 2.1 points and 4.3 minutes per contest for the Hoosiers. Last week sophomore forward Clifton Moore also entered his name into the transfer portal. Unlike Moore, Forrester was part of an Archie Miller recruiting class, although he was first offered an IU scholarship by Tom Crean. The 6-foot-8 Forrester has the option of withdrawing his name and remaining with Indiana. You can follow us on Twitter: @daily_hoosier…
