Indiana head basketball coach Archie Miller is determined to get a primary ball handler in the class of 2020. For more than a year the top target in that regard has been St. Louis area product Caleb Love.  Continuing that pursuit, Miller visited Love in-home on Tuesday. Love attends Christian Brothers in St. Louis and he led his team to the state finals as a junior.  He is ranked as the No. 32 player in the country in the 2020 class according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 5 point guard. Indiana continues to actively issue scholarship offers in the class of 2020 after the April live recruiting period. The latest incoming high school senior to receive an IU offer is Minnesota native Dawson Garcia.  The IU coaching staff visited Garcia on Tuesday evening and issued the offer in person.  He announced the offer on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Dawson23lee/status/1123428602182275074 Although he is 6-foot-11, Garcia is not a traditional back to the basket big man.  The Prior Lake product has ball handling ability and can pass and knock down perimeter shots. Indiana has made up substantial ground since entering the mix for 2019 4-star guard Lester Quinones a few months ago. When the New York native announced his “final seven” schools in February, the Hoosiers’ odds seemed slim, with at least one 247Sports recruiting analyst describing IU as a “very big longshot.” An official visit to Bloomington last week seems to have helped the cause substantially, and now the Hoosiers appear to be in the final two for the talented shooting guard. After spending much of the weekend watching them play in Dallas, Miller has offered 2020 four-star shooting guards Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway today during in-home visits. Leal hails from Bloomington, Ind., while Galloway attends Culver Academies in Culver, Ind. The Galloway offer was first announced today by 247Sports ($). After an impressive performance in Atlanta on the Nike EYBL AAU circuit, Indiana has extended an offer to Massachusetts forward Matthew Cross. Former Indiana University guard Wes Martin has been drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Martin was the 131st overall selection. https://twitter.com/IndianaFootball/status/1122196744257798144 Martin was widely expected to be drafted, but the fourth round selection was sooner than what most services had predicted.  Although he was not invited to the NFL Combine, a strong showing at IU’s pro day might have contributed.
