It’s Indiana week for Illinois. Through the years, that has meant laughable hysterics coming out of the Illinois program.  From Lou Henson calling Bob Knight a “classic bully” to Bruce Weber fostering venomous hatred towards an 18 year old named Eric Gordon, the Illini are always good for a chuckle. And why shouldn’t their beat reporters join in on the fun? This is Illinois (4-9) basketball after all.  You know, the same Illinois that is coming off a home loss to Florida Atlantic, if you are keeping score at home.  The same program that is coming off a 14-18 overall…

When elite Indiana University athletics programs come to mind, the IU men’s soccer and basketball programs are likely the first that most people think of.  And that’s for good reason, as those programs have collectively produced 13 team national titles. The IU men’s swimming and diving program takes a backseat to no one with 6 team national titles of its own.  Currently ranked No. 2 in the country, the 2018-19 Hoosiers should threaten in March for the long awaited 7th crown. We should have known better. Last month, when Indiana football head coach Tom Allen addressed the media after a season ending loss to Purdue, he said this in response to a question about potentially giving up the reins as the defensive coordinator — “That’s definitely something I’ve been thinking about because of all the responsibilities that fall into this position,’’ Allen said. “Now that I’ve done it for a couple years, I feel like I understand the time demands. There’s no question about it, as I’ve talked about, even last year saying there’s going to come a time when I…

During Wommack’s two seasons in Mobile, South…
