If you like close games, Indiana is your team, and the Crossroads Classic, your event. Over the last two weeks, this IU basketball team has shown that it knows how to make things entertaining, with three wins by a grand total of five points. On paper it looks like more of the same is on tap for Saturday afternoon in Indianapolis at the eighth annual Crossroads Classic. For the fourth game in a row, Indiana is walking into what feels like a coin toss kind of game. And why not? That’s how just about every game that the Hoosiers have…

Let’s get the easy part out of the way first. There is no “Butler Way.” *Pauses for collective gasp of Butler fans (or perhaps their eye roll)* No, not in the way that some would have you believe anyway. There are no mystical powers here. No secret sauce. And if those ever were part of the formula, they were packed up and moved to Boston in 2013. Butler doesn’t hide its “way” locked in a vault deep beneath Hinkle Fieldhouse. In fact, it’s right there on their website: “The Butler Way demands commitment, denies selfishness and accepts reality, yet seeks…

Here’s the latest with the Hoosiers. EARLY SIGNING DAY A WEEK AWAY IU concluded a big recruiting weekend and anxiously awaits next Wednesday, when class of 2019 recruits can first sign their national letters of intent. This is the second year in a row where there has been an early signing period in mid-December. Several undecided players have indicated that they intend to sign early,…
Are you guilty too? Enduring through a major rehabilitation for a torn Achilles tendon, there were a lot of Indiana analysts and fans alike in the De’Ron Davis doubters camp coming into the 2018-19 Indiana basketball season. The narrative for doubting Davis wasn’t unreasonable. Already not known for his quickness or athleticism, the 6-foot-10 255 pound forward was attempting to come back from what many told him was one of the toughest injuries to recover from. And it would be doubly difficult on that big frame. Moreover, Indiana (and basketball as a whole really), seems to be moving away from…
As of December 11, 2018, the following Indiana University Athletics programs were nationally ranked in the Top 25, either currently, at the end, or in the preseason of their respective seasons: MEN’S SOCCER – #2 For the second season in a row, the Hoosiers lost in heartbreaking fashion at the College Cup. Another strong season further cements IU’s standing as one of, if not the nation’s premier program of all-time. MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING – #2 The Hoosiers are off to a fast start and will be a strong contender for a team national title along with several individuals in…
