Another opponent for Indiana’s 2024-25 season has been revealed. X account Made for March is reporting Indiana will host Sam Houston on Tuesday December 3rd. According to Bart Torvik, Sam Houston State was the No. 128 team in the nation a year ago.  They finished with a 21-12 record, including a 13-3 mark in Conference USA, good for a first place regular season league finish.  The Bearkats lost in the second round of their conference tournament and did not play in any other postseason tournaments. Can IU basketball have former players chosen in the first round of the NBA Draft for three years in a row? That’s never happened before in program history, but CBS Sports thinks two current Hoosiers will hear their names called by commissioner Adam Silver on the opening night of the draft in 2025. IU football’s class of 2025 has been in a major state of flux over the last four months since offensive lineman Matt Marek became the first commit among rising high school seniors. The class has gone from zero to 17 commits, and even seen a couple decommits during that time. Former IU basketball center Kel’el Ware is a first-round NBA Draft choice. Ware was selected No. 15 overall in the first round by the Miami Heat. According to IU Athletics, he is the 80th all-time Indiana player chosen in the NBA Draft. The 7-foot Ware gives Indiana and head coach Mike Woodson a first round pick for the second straight year.  The Hoosiers have had three players selected over the last two drafts, as Ware joins Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis. Former IU basketball star OG Anunoby has landed a massive new deal to remain with the New York Knicks, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting. “Free agent F OG Anunoby intends to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract to return to the New York Knicks, sources tell ESPN,” Wojnarowski wrote on X.  “Deal will include a player option and a trade kicker.” The deal is the largest in Knicks history and may be the biggest contract ever signed by any IU professional athlete. IU themed Assembly Ball has a first round opponent in the 2024 edition of The Basketball Tournament. They’ll face Valparaiso alumni team The Cru.  Assembly Ball was determined to be the No. 1 seed in the eight team regional in Indianapolis. Assembly Ball features former IU players Jordan Hulls (as a player and coach), Juwan Morgan, Devonte Green, Miller Kopp, Yogi Ferrell, Miller Kopp, Race Thompson and Troy Williams. As he told The Daily Hoosier on Saturday, Braylon Mullins had visit dates coming for some of college basketball’s marquee programs. On Tuesday afternoon, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported the news of two major visits for the Greenfield, Ind. class of 2025 top-50 shooting guard. Tipton is reporting Mullins now has dates set for official visits to UConn in early August, and North Carolina in mid-September. The 2024 IU football season is going to be a tug-of-war between the historic futility of the program, and new head coach Curt Cignetti’s refusal to lose. How will it end? For a respected take we turn to the always highly anticipated Phil Steele’s College Football Preview Magazine. The digital edition of Steele’s 2024 yearbook was released earlier this month, and in it he paints a relatively rosy outlook for Indiana.
