It is important to preface what I am about to say with a bit of context. You aren’t likely to find a more traditional Indiana high school basketball fan than me.  Class basketball?  Hate it.  The growing trend of kids transferring to prep schools?  Not a fan.  I wish Indiana high school basketball was still like it was in the late 80’s and early 90’s when I was growing up, but it isn’t — and it never will be again. And you know what — that’s okay. Sometimes, you have to be smart enough to realize the shortcomings of your…

It was one of the more anticipated Indiana University football games in years.  Perhaps the most anticipated opening game in decades.  Indiana.  Ohio State.  Memorial Stadium.  ESPN College Gameday.  The stage doesn’t get much bigger for IU football. It took exactly one play for controversy to ensue.  It took one play for long-suffering Indiana fans to be overcome with that understandable sense of “here we go again.” Technically, it wasn’t even a play — not from scrimmage anyway, and for some, that was the problem. On the opening kickoff on August 31 last year, with Memorial Stadium buzzing, star wide…

It has been a while since Indiana has had a 7-foot center on its roster that had the high major talent to go with his size.  In fact, Cody Zeller was the last such Hoosier in 2013. Indiana is looking to change that in the class of 2020 with Ohio center Zach Loveday.  Hailing from the small town of Gallipolis, which is nestled along the Ohio River in the southeastern part of the state, there is nothing small about Loveday. Depending on which recruiting service you read, his height ranges from 6-foot-10 to 7-feet, but irrespective of the precise number,…
