Indiana basketball 2018 recruiting target Romeo Langford had two games over the weekend, both New Albany wins.  On Friday night the Bulldogs dominated Evansville North 112-43.  Langford scored 38 points on the night. On Saturday New Albany again rolled, this time taking down Jasper 87-44.  Langford again scored 38 points on the night.  New Albany (15-1), who is ranked No. 3 in Class 4A, won their 12th straight game. Langford would need to average 41.9 points over his remaining games and have his team reach the state finals in order to surpass Damon Bailey and become the state’s all-time leading scorer. …

GAME NOTES:  The #3 ranked Purdue Boilermakers (20-2, 9-0) travel to Bloomington to face the Indiana Hoosiers (12-9, 5-4) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  The tip-off is set for 3:30 PM and the game will be broadcast on Fox with Tim Brando and Jimmy Jackson on the call.  Indiana is coming off a 73-71 loss at Illinois on Wednesday, while Purdue beat Michigan 92-88 on Thursday.   Purdue leads the all-time series 115-89, while Indiana leads the series 79-67 during the NCAA tournament era (1939).  The Boilers won both games last year, 69-64 at Indiana, and 86-75 at Purdue. Back in November when Indiana hosted Duke many were shocked to see the Hoosiers as such a big underdog at home.  IU fans may need to sit down, because we suspect that they will see an even bigger point spread over the next couple days when the Purdue line comes out.  We are by no means betting experts (if there even is such a thing), but we’d expect that Purdue might be a double digit favorite.
