UPDATED at 2:55 PM EST: Indiana signs 3-star DE Jonathan King. Details below. As you may recall, college football had an early signing period back in December. As with most programs, Indiana was able to sign most of its recruiting class at that time. Nevertheless, the traditional February national signing day remained as teams looked to fill in the remaining pieces of their incoming classes. It was a good day for the Hoosiers as they picked up three signatures including one that was not expected. JAMES MILLER – LINEBACKER, TAMPA, FL This was a coup for IU. Miller, a 3-star…
When you hold a Big Ten opponent to under 50 points, it’s eye opening. When you do it twice over the course of eight games it makes you think there might be something going on. Perhaps a transformation is underway? During Big Ten play the eye test has told us that Indiana is playing more aggressive and effective defense. But these biased eyes have been known to see things that don’t exist. So we wondered, after holding Rutgers to 43 points on Monday night, is it possible to demonstrate that the Hoosiers have in fact become a better defensive unit? …

After coming out flat this year on multiple occasions after big games and/or short rest, Indiana got off to a quick start and never looked back on Monday night. Rutgers has been good at times this year, beating Seton Hall and competing in very close games with the likes of Purdue and Michigan State. But in part due to IU’s defense, and in part due to the Scarlet Knights’ own ineptitude, the Hoosiers controlled this one wire to wire. It was by no means a work of art, but it never will be with this edition of the Hoosiers. They…

Indiana goes back out on the road Monday night for a Big Ten Conference contest with Rutgers. Both teams are on only one day of rest and both teams are riding long losing streaks (Indiana 4, Rutgers 5). We took a look at what the Rutgers media is saying about the game: A COREY SANDERS ANTIDOTE? On the Banks laments that the defense that has been giving Rutgers the most trouble is the pack-line. This is primarily due to the fact that the pack line places a heavy emphasis on eliminating dribble penetration and forces you to win from the…

On a night when Indiana basketball 2018 recruiting target Romeo Langford was honored for being a McDonald’s All-American, one has to wonder if he is making a final push for the ultimate Indiana high school basketball honor: all-time scoring king. After missing a game earlier in the year it appeared that Romeo would come up short in his pursuit of Damon Bailey’s all-time mark. In the words of former Indiana football coach Lee Corso, “Not so fast my friend!” Langford has scored 107 points in his last two games, and for now, the chase is back on. On Saturday, New…
