As is almost always the case when Indiana has faced Michigan State under Tom Izzo, Saturday night’s contest against the Spartans is a big challenge for IU. That is especially true this year, as the Hoosiers are in the midst of a 3 game losing streak and lost to Michigan State 85-57 only two weeks ago. On several occasions in the past, however, the Hoosiers have pulled through against great Michigan State teams, including several instances where the Spartans were ranked significantly higher than IU. Today we take a look back at some of the more memorable IU home wins…

It is interesting to think back now to the buzz that surrounded Devonte Green in October. There was plenty of talk of a beakout season after the first public scrimmage at Hoosier Hysteria. Green led all scorers with 14 points and several publications stated that he was the best player on the floor. Green followed that up in IU’s first exhibition game against Marian with an eye-popping statistical line of 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds. He led the Hoosiers in each of those statistical categories. The buzz grew louder and many regarded him as the likely leading scorer for…

I guess you could say the start against Ohio State was predictable. After a Purdue game that followed a similar script to Duke, Indiana started slow against Ohio State too, and it could never recover. Indiana was getting wins earlier in the conference slate by grinding away at its opponents. Now the schedule is grinding away at them. Michigan State is next. You know how that went last…
