Game Notes:  The Indiana Hoosiers (8-6, 1-1)) resume Big Ten play on the road against the Wisconsin Badgers (8-7, 1-1) at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin.  Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM EST on Tuesday, January 2nd.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN with Dave Fleming and former Indiana guard Dan Dakich on the call.  Greg Gard is in year three as the Wisconsin head coach.  His overall record is 50-25 since becoming head coach at Wisconsin and he is 4-1 against IU.  Indiana leads the all-time series against Wisconsin 96-73.  Wisconsin is a 5.5 point favorite to win the…

They say if you love something you have to set it free.  In the spring of 2015, Zach McRoberts set the game of basketball free after his freshman year playing for the Vermont Catamounts.  The former Carmel High School standout and Indiana High School All-Star needed a break. It was a 28 point win for IU, but when considering the caliber of the opponent and the Hoosiers’ level of play in the first half there wasn’t much to feel good about.  Indiana didn’t look sharp at all in the first half.  Was it rust from a long break or just another enigmatic performance from this edition of the Hoosiers?  Whatever it was, it won’t work starting next week.  Ready or not, it is time to resume Big Ten basketball, and the Hoosiers will start out with a challenging back to back on the road at Wisconsin and Minnesota…

Romeo Langford missed Thursday’s game against Evansville Central with a finger injury.  The math for him to catch IU great Damon Bailey is very challenging now.  Langford would need New Albany to advance to the state championship game and he would have to average 40 points a game along the way. While catching Bailey now seems highly unlikely, we’ll continue to monitor his progress along the way to see where he ends up.  Bailey is the current all-time scoring leader at 3,134 points.  Langford appears likely to pass a couple other IU greats soon:  Alan Henderson and James Blackmon, Jr.…

GAME NOTES:  The Indiana Hoosiers (7-6) conclude the pre-conference portion of their schedule on Friday night as they host the Youngstown State Penguins (2-10) at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.  Tip-off is set for 8:00 PM.  The game will be broadcast on BTN with Brandon Gaudin & Bob Wentzel on the call.  This will be the first ever game between the two programs.  Youngstown State will most likely be the lowest ranked team the Hoosiers face all season in the KenPom rankings, sitting at 330th out of 351 teams nationally.  KenPom has IU as a 21 point favorite with…
