The Cincinnati, Ohio product announced his decision at his high school on Monday afternoon. Stewart took an official visit to IU a couple weeks ago. Former IU baseball pitcher Tanner Gordon made his Major League Baseball debut on Sunday afternoon in Denver. Throwing for the Colorado Rockies, Gordon got off to a good start, with two strikeouts and a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first. But Kansas City posted four runs against Gordon, all earned, in the second. Gordon settled in from there, throwing four straight scoreless innings. He was chased out in the top of the 7th with one out after giving up a solo home run. Colorado’s hitters provided no support, producing no runs during Gordon’s time on the mound. In…

As we do each year midseason, below is a look at the former IU baseball players who have seen action in Major League Baseball thus far this year. To date, three former IU players have seen action, with several more a step away. The two players still active are key players on two of the best teams in the big leagues this year. Perhaps they’ll meet in a critical late inning head-to-head matchup in October? And will there be a new all-time home run king among former Hoosiers by season’s end? Let’s take a quick look. Kyle Schwarber, Philadelphia Schwarber…

The last four spots in the 12-team Olympic men’s basketball field for the Paris Games are being decided in winner-take-all qualifying tournaments going on right now in Spain, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Greece. And one former IU basketball star is making a push to represent his mother’s native country at the 2024 Games. Eric Gordon’s mother Denise is a Nassau, Bahamas native with a large family of descendants who live on the islands. Eric and his family traveled regularly to the country during his childhood. He also made an appearance there in 2021 when IU basketball played in a foreign…
July is typically a month when rising high school seniors begin to narrow their recruitments, and we’re beginning to see that with some of IU basketball’s main targets. If we had to name five 2025 prospects Indiana is clearly a top contender for we’d go with, in no particular order, Braylon Mullins, Jalen Haralson, Trent Sisley, Malachi Moreno and Bryson Tiller. All but Tiller have included Indiana in their top or final schools recently, and it seems clear IU is one of Tiller’s main schools as well. And all of them have taken or will take an official visit to…

The 2024-25 Miami Heat frontcourt will have a heavy IU basketball influence. In addition to first round draft choice Kel’el Ware, former Indiana star Thomas Bryant will play for the NBA franchise next season. Marc Stein appeared to be the first of many to report the news. It’s the second time in three years the Heat will have two former Hoosiers. Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller both played for Miami in 2022-23. For Bryant, it will be a return season with the Heat. The 6-foot-10 Bryant is expected to return on a one-year contract at the NBA veteran minimum, around…
