Let’s get the easy part out of the way.  As we reported yesterday, the Hoosiers are in the Big Ten’s 15-team tournament that starts on March 16. Sydney Parrish will get another shot at her former team on Thursday in Indianapolis. On Sunday evening the Big Ten announced the bracket for the 2025 women’s basketball tournament.  No. 9 seed Indiana (18-11, 10-8) will face No. 8 Oregon (19-10, 10-8) on Thursday at Noon ET. The Hoosiers lost 54-47 to the Ducks in Eugene in the lone meeting during the regular season. A Parrish 3-pointer as part of a 7-0 run gave the Hoosiers a 10-point edge, 32-22, with 5:36 left in the third quarter. But from that point Indiana was outscored 32-15 the rest of the way. …

A late season surge including wins in four of their last five games has put IU basketball comfortably in the Big Ten Tournament. Their 78-62 win at Washington on Saturday sealed the deal. With the addition of four new teams in 2024, the Big Ten Tournament moved to an 15-team field, meaning three teams will not participate in the event that runs March 12-16 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. (via release) No. 2-ranked Indiana won its fourth consecutive Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship on Saturday (March 1) inside the Jane K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. IU’s 448-point margin is the largest in Big Ten history. Indiana defeated Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 78-62. The Hoosiers led 44-30 at halftime.  They were led in the game by Malik Reneau with 22 points.  Luke Goode added 18. You had to go back to Valentine’s Day to find a missed shot by Malik Reneau. And even that day he finished with four makes in a row. The junior forward made his final four shots against UCLA on Feb. 14, made all seven attempts against Purdue on Feb. 23, and started Saturday’s game against Washington by making his first six. Those 17 consecutive makes from the field are the most by an IU basketball player in at least 25 years, an IU spokesperson tells The Daily Hoosier. Indiana forward Malik Reneau is with the team in Washington after being hospitalized earlier in the week. Based on photos on IU basketball’s social media accounts, the junior forward was a participant in the team’s pregame shootaround at Alaska Airlines Arena. Reneau is not listed as questionable or out on the Big Ten’s pregame availability report.  He should be able to play.  Sophomore guards Jakai Newton and Gabe Cupps are both out. HOOD-SCHIFINO SIGNS WITH PHILADELPHIA PER REPORT Former IU one-and-done guard Jalen Hood-Schifino is on the move again. Trey Galloway has seen it all over five seasons at Indiana.
