Offensive line has been a weak spot for Indiana for a few years. The issues reached a boiling point during the season last fall, when Tom Allen fired offensive line coach Darren Hiller. The group showed a little improvement after Rod Carey took over, but still had a long way to go. But with many key pieces returning, and a new, experienced position coach leading the way, IU’s offensive line could turn into a much stronger unit next season. Allen hired Wisconsin offensive line coach Bob Bostad to be IU’s O-line coach and run game coordinator. He coaches several iterations…

Indiana will be leaning on youth at tight end this year. AJ Barner was Indiana’s only experienced tight end last year, and he was limited by injuries for a lot of the season. He played in 10 games, and he did finish third on the team with 28 receptions and second with three touchdowns. He also posted 199 yards, and was a solid run-blocker. But Barner entered the transfer portal after the season and landed at Big Ten rival Michigan. So as Kevin Wright goes into his fourth season working with Indiana’s tight ends, he’ll have no scholarship returnees in…

BLOOMINGTON — Finality is an endlessly difficult thing for humans to come to grips with. It presents itself in different settings, taking different forms, and carrying different meanings. BLOOMINGTON — The moment wasn’t extraordinary for Lilly Meister. IU women’s basketball coaches hinted, in the days leading up to the NCAA Tournament opener against Tennessee Tech, that she may receive her first career start, with All-American Mackenzie Holmes limited. There wasn’t some big announcement of that news; no private meeting with IU head coach Teri Moren. It hit Meister while the Hoosiers reviewed their defensive gameplan earlier on Sunday. Coaches causally mentioned who she’d be guarding, and she realized what that meant. She’s worked all season, developing her game, for an opportunity like this. After regularly battling with Holmes…
