Watch as Indiana freshman point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino met with the media on Thursday afternoon via Zoom. Hood-Schifino was a consensus top-25 prospect according to the four major national recruiting sites. The 6-foot-5 native of Pittsburgh is the highest rated incoming recruit in the Big Ten, and led his Montverde (Fla.) Academy team to its sixth GEICO High School national championship and second straight. He scored 14 points and hit three triples in the Jordan Brand Classic. Cheaney’s 2,613 career points from 1989-93 still stand as the most in IU and Big Ten history.  The three-time All-American led the Hoosiers to 105 wins during his four seasons on campus, including four NCAA Tournament appearances, two Big Ten titles and a run to the 1992 Final Four. The Big Ten Network is releasing condensed 10 to 15 minute cuts of Big Ten basketball games from the 2021-22 season. Next up was a record breaking night.  Trayce Jackson-Davis scored a career high and Assembly Hall record 43 points on 18-of-24 shooting. Steve Alford had the previous record. Marshall appeared reluctant to double team the junior big man until he had exceeded the 30-point mark.  At that point he was effective passing out of the post and had 4 assists.  Jackson-Davis also had 5 blocks on the other end. Watch below the sophomore season highlights of 2024 forward Derik Queen. A teammate of IU 2022 signees Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau, the Montverde Academy product played in a reserve role for the national powerhouse in 2021-22. Queen is currently a 5-star and the No. 6 player in the 2024 class according to the 247Sports Composite.
