According to a school release, Indiana University has engaged outside counsel to conduct an independent review of allegations brought by a former men’s basketball player against team doctor Brad Bomba Sr. The former player is not named in the release, which only indicates the player “competed at IU several decades ago.” An IU Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Bomba won football letters in 1954, 1955 and 1956 and led those teams in receiving all three years as an end.  He was all-Big Ten in 1955, three-time Academic All-Big Ten and 1956 Academic All-American. IU basketball’s 2024-25 Big Ten schedule continues to trickle out. On Tuesday evening, Jon Rothstein reported the Hoosiers will open Big Ten play on Monday, Dec. 9 against Minnesota in Bloomington. The news follows prior announcements Indiana will play at Nebraska on Dec. 13 and at Penn State on Jan. 5.  Each of those teams are in the bottom six of Bart Torvik’s preseason Big Ten rankings. Indiana has won eight straight games against Minnesota, with the last loss coming in 2019. Watch as UCLA head coach DeShaun Foster met with the media on Monday to answer questions about Indiana and his team’s bye week. As is the case each season, the Big Ten is rolling out kick times and television designations a couple weeks ahead of each game. On Monday the league announced Indiana’s week four game vs. Charlotte will be a noon kickoff that will air on the Big Ten Network. Watch as IU women’s basketball all-time leading scorer Mackenzie Holmes sat down with Miller Kopp on the Player’s Perspective podcast by Hoosiers Connect. Holmes is in Bloomington for the 2024-25 season as a graduate manager.
