The Ray Guy Award, which is awarded to the nation’s top collegiate punter, announced on Friday Indiana football senior James Evans as one of 34 preseason candidates for the award. The Augusta Sports Council announced its preseason watch list, which uses a broad spectrum of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) punters and was compiled based on the 2023 award semifinalist, top-10 NCAA punters from 2023 and preseason and previous season all-conference and All-America teams. Via release, Indiana University Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Scott Dolson announced today that IU Athletics will welcome six new members to its Athletics Hall of Fame. The six individuals comprise the 39th class, bringing the roster of inductees to 255. Kayla Bashore (Field Hockey, 2002-05), Kevin Berry (Men’s Swimming, 1964-66), Danny O’Rourke (Men’s Soccer, 2001-04), Victor Oladipo (Men’s Basketball, 2011-13), Max Skirvin (Radio Broadcaster, Contributor 1950-2000), and Jody Yin (Women’s Tennis, 1991-94) will be officially inducted at the annual Hall of Fame dinner on Friday, Sept. 20, and will be recognized at halftime of the Indiana-Charlotte football…

IU football fans will hear a familiar voice on the radio this fall. Buck Suhr will return to join legendary voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer on the Indiana Sports Radio Network for another season as an analyst for Hoosier football broadcasts. Suhr returns to the booth after former IU letterwinner, NFL Network personality, and two-year color analyst Rhett Lewis will move into a broadcasting role with the Big Ten Network for the 2024 season. This will be Suhr’s third stint with Fisher on the radio. The duo teamed up in 1997-2001 and 2010-2022. Suhr will call his 19th season…

Watch as Indiana defensive lineman James Carpenter met with the media on Thursday inside Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. Carpenter transferred in from James Madison during the offseason and is expected to compete for a starting role after missing spring practice.  In 2023 he was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team after he finished the season with 48 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, six QB hits, four pass breakups, two fumbles recovered and an interception. Indiana football redshirt-junior James Bomba was named to his second service-based watch list on Thursday when the Wuerffel Trophy placed him on its preseason list. The Wuerffel Foundation announced its 2024 watch list, consisting of a record 111 nominees representing players from college football’s Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
