Indiana native and 2025 IU basketball target Jalen Haralson made the USA Basketball Men’s U17 National Team following five days of training camp in Colorado Springs. The U17 national team, chosen from the 34 participants, will compete at the 2024 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup, scheduled for June 29-July 7 in Istanbul. 2020 Olympic silver medalist Jessica Parratto earned a trip to her third Olympics on Tuesday (June 18) at the U.S. Olympic Diving Trials inside the Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Parratto and partner Delaney Schnell won the women’s synchronized 10-meter – the event they earned a silver medal in at the 2020 Tokyo Games – with a score of 607.14 points. Parratto enters the 2024 Paris Games a three-time Olympian, adding to an elite list of IU women to reach three Olympics in diving. She joins Ingeborg Pertmayer (1964, 1968, 1972) and Cynthia Potter (1972, 1976, 1980). The…

Five-time Olympic medalist Lilly King pulled off a hat trick in her home state. King, a native of Evansville, Ind. and former IU swimmer, finished first in the women’s 100-meter breaststroke final at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. King finished the race with a time of 1:05:43 and had the only time under 1:06. Her performance in the final ranks as the fourth fastest time in the world this season.  King wore an IU cap during the race. Ahead of the 2024 MLB Draft, six Hoosiers have been invited to the MLB Draft Combine. It is the last major gathering of eligible prospects in front of the 30 MLB franchises before July’s draft on All-Star weekend. The combine will be held at Chase Field in Phoenix. The Indiana Baseball team will have six players in attendance, the most of any team in the Big Ten Conference. The awards keep coming for sophomore outfielder Devin Taylor after his prolific 2024 campaign. Most recently,  Taylor was named a Second Team All-American by Perfect Game, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon. After being named first team All-Big Ten last month, Taylor was also named a First Team ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) All-Midwest Region selection on Monday, and he was selected to participate in the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer. Memphis’ Penny Hardaway is expected to add former IU basketball coach Mike Davis to his staff, according to multiple Wednesday reports. Davis is best known as the successor at Indiana to legendary coach Bob Knight.  He led the Hoosiers to the national championship game in 2002. The 63-year-old Davis served as Indiana head coach from 2000-06, and he compiled a 115-79 overall record and a 55-41 Big Ten Conference ledger.  He was 9-2 against Purdue.
