Marian Athletic Director Steve Downing introduced new Marian head basketball coach Pat Knight on Friday afternoon in Indianapolis. Downing and Knight were together at Indiana and Texas Tech when Bob Knight was head coach at both schools. Both Downing and Pat Knight played at Indiana. Pat Knight is the 10th head coach in the history of the Marian program. He is returning to coaching for the first time in 10 years. Indiana will welcome some of the expanded Big Ten Conference’s marquee programs to Bloomington in 2024-25, and Sydney Parrish will make a return trip to Oregon. The league has announced women’s basketball league opponents for next season, via release. The conference will play an 18-game format once again. With the additions of Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington, each team will play one opponent twice, eight opponents only at home, and eight opponents only on the road.
